Erin has served in Camodia with an organization that helps place children into loving families. After having spent over a year working with women exiting sex-work, she saw a great need to fight trafficking at the root causes. While rescue and restoration are deeply important to God's heart, she was witness to a system that kept creating the vulnerable in the first place. This created a cycle of sexual abuse and trafficking, with a new person to replace the one rescued. By empowering healthy, stable and loving family environments, children and youth are much less likely to fall victim to human trafficking.
With this sift in mind, she began to focus on lasting community development through the transforming power of the Word. She will be returning to South and SE Asioa with the goal of training locals and ex-pats to study the Bible inductively, finding God for themselves. Christ did not come to change culture but to redeem it.
If we are to develop nations to break the cycles of poverty, abuse and trafficking, we must first help them understand there is a God who values all people, having created them in his image for deep love and purpose. A God who came to bring Life to the Fullest.
Specific Prayer: Pray for Erin as she has been asked to run training seminars for those churches and Christians in the surrounding closed and persecuted nations.
